What is the difference between plated dining and cocktail parties?

Plated dining is typically best for parties under 20. Courses come out one after another in a traditional dinner setting. Cocktail parties are best for groups over 15 and enables guests to stand and mingle. For standing events, we offer passed canapés, grazing boards, and live chef stations. 

How much notice do I need to give for a catering order?

We require 7 day notice prior to your catering event. This allows enough time to generate your custom menu and ensure all ingredients can be sourced in time for your event.

How are far will Sunshine Coast Catering travel?

Sunshine Coast Catering operates primarily between Gibsons and Halfmoon Bay, but we often go further depending on the event.

What is your minimum order?

Our minimum for most catering orders is 8 guests, with price per head starting at $80.

How do I place an order?

Can I customize the menu?

All our menus are made custom for each client. However, if a menu change is requested AFTER a client has approved a menu, a change fee will be applied.

Can you accommodate allergies?

Sunshine Coast Catering will accommodate any and all allergies and dietary restrictions for our clients upon request. Please communicate these requests upon booking inquiry.

Do your prices include staffing and plates/cutlery?

Prices include the chef services and the food. Staffing beyond the chef and plate/cutlery rentals are at the expense of the client, however we do have partnership with local rental companies that would be happy to accommodate your event.

What are the deposit and payment requirements?

To secure your event catering, we require a 50% non-refundable deposit. The final payment is due upon the day of the event.

What if I have booked but need to cancel my event?

*All cancelations will be dealt with on a case by case basis. Typically the client will lose their deposit, but depending on how close the cancellation is to the time of the event, the deposit may be used towards rescheduling a new event.

What is required for catering at my home? Do you use my pots and pans etc?

A a basic set of pots and pans is required in the clients kitchen.

Do I have to clean up after my event?

Sunshine Coast Catering promises to leave your kitchen how we found it. Our chefs will not do any additional cleaning beyond this.

Can I taste the food before booking my event?

We do offer tastings for events over 60 guests. We charge a minimum $100 for a tasting, however, if you hire Sunshine Coast Catering as your caterer, we deduct the tasting fee from your final bill.
